About this data

Import rules change frequently and can vary by origin country, airline, and pet breed. The information here is researched from official government sources and pet relocation services as of May 2026, but should be verified with the destination country's veterinary authority before you book travel. Countries listed as easy (Vietnam, Cambodia) have no quarantine or import permit for personal pets; moderate destinations require permits and may have quarantine; hard (Indonesia, Bali) involves a rabies titer test, lengthy lead times and mandatory facility quarantine.

All destinations require an ISO microchip (implanted before the rabies vaccine) and a government-endorsed health certificate issued within 7-14 days of departure. Bali is listed separately because direct pet import is prohibited: pets must enter via Jakarta, complete quarantine there, then be ground-transported to Bali via Surabaya and the Ketapang-Gilimanuk ferry.
